What a throwback to past decades! Marc Jacobs Fall '20 was one of my favorite shows of the season simply because of the collections ability to add a modern touch to classic trends from previous decades. His collection travelled in time and paid homage to some iconic styles. For instance, I felt nostalgic when I saw checkered/plaid prints come down the runway, giving me 90s vibes and reminding me of Cher's style from Clueless. Also, I noticed 1960's supermodel, Twiggy's, style embrace the runway. The straight "baby doll" dress definitely reminded me of her. The 60's were a huge part of the collection because it highlighted the styles of several icons including Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, and the mod culture. The beginning towards self-expression started in the 60s and the importance of it is evidently portrayed throughout the runway. It is obvious that Marc Jacobs created this collection with the intention of combining basic, traditional pieces with one-of-a-kind statement pieces.
